U. S. Senator Bob Dole has introduced legislation to ban Viagra from sale in America and also reintroduces legislation to ban the erectile dysfunction drug.
“We have a very strong bill in the Senate,” said Senator Dole.
The bill was introduced by a Republican-led Senate majority and passed the Senate on September 28.
The measure would ban the sale of Viagra to the state if the product is approved by the state’s board of pharmacy and the sale is approved in another state. The bill is also reintroduced in the House.
The legislation is expected to be reintroduced at the next two weeks.
Viagra, which is sold in the U. S., has been around for about 15 years.
In 2000, Viagra was the first pill to hit the market.
In 2003, it was approved for sale as an erectile dysfunction drug.
The bill was introduced by Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma.
“It is very significant,” said Senator Coburn.
“This is a very important step in the process to eliminate the stigma attached to this drug, and also to expand access to this drug in a way that works, which is great news for our country,” he said.
The bill is sponsored by the group BlueChew.
This is not the first time a bill has been introduced in the Senate.
In 2010, a Senate subcommittee voted to reintroduce a bill to ban the sale of Viagra.
